Description | Peste des petits ruminant (PPR) is a highly contagious viral disease of sheep and goats, and infection has been noted in antelope, camels and water buffalo. Infection is characterised by fever, sores in the mouth, diarrhoea, pneumonia and sudden death. Outbreaks result in morbidity and mortality rates of 80-100%. PPR is not considered a public health risk. |
